Ramona + Firehouse
Around the end of the first lockdown we were approached by a client to look at a potential development site. The derelict MOT garage was in a prime location in the centre of Manchester, unloved for years and in need of some creative ideas to temporarily transform it into a takeaway pizza restaurant.
Fast forward a few years and not only is Ramona a brilliant indoor outdoor space with a fully functioning cellar, bar and pizza kitchen it is also adjacent to its internal sister restaurant Firehouse. Firehouse features a huge open plan kitchen and 10 meter long bar. Both Ramona and Firehouse use second hand furniture and finishes to sympathetically blend into the existing site. Feature tiles and vintage corduroy fabrics give a cool nod to the 70's. I submitted planning applications for the development which, while originally intended to be temporary, now looks to become a permanent feature in Manchester.
